This is the scholarly work behind the practice of teaching Catholic young adults communal discernment in the Ignatian and Quaker traditions. I am a Roman Catholic woman religious, and so the work is particularly Catholic in nature, as I struggle to pass on a rich tradition and spirituality that continues to be lifegiving for me. “Nuns” today are a great resource for passing on the faith even as we have disappeared from schools and hospitals that we built and sustained over several hundred years in this country. We want to be a resource. The following is a lengthy thesis on the subject, for those of you who may be interested in spiritual reading, theology, history and sociological profiles of the young adult and faith.
